2020 Suffolk Squash Online AGM

All Suffolk Clubs and Suffolk and Essex League Captains

Now that we are all becoming more comfortable with video technology, we are taking the opportunity of using the technology at the forthcoming Suffolk AGM on May 13th and you are invited to attend. Without the need to travel, hopefully more people will be able to join and, to maximise the benefit, we will run the meeting agenda in a slightly different way.

We will start at 6.30pm by running through the matters specific to the County such as coaching, county teams, etc. and all players within the county are welcome to join in and they are the only attendees who can vote. In addition to the Association officers who will be elected at the meeting, we are proposing that all clubs can nominate a representative to join the committee in an unofficial capacity. The expectation is that these representatives won’t be expected to assume any committee responsibilities but will be invited to input to any committee discussions through the year – again hopefully by video to minimise travel. That should see us through to around 7.15pm and we will take a break before moving on to the League Secretary’s report. This will allow anyone from outside the County who is interested in the League to join the meeting without having to sit through all the County stuff first. We expect to finish around 8.15pm.

The meeting will be held using Zoom on Wednesday, May 13th. We will start the County agenda at 6.30pm, moving on to the League Secretary’s Report at 7.30pm. Anyone wishing to attend should send contact details to livingstonearchie21@gmail.com by close of business on the 12th.

Thank you.

Alec Livingstone, Chairman, Suffolk SRA

a little about suffolk squash

Our objective is to further the growth and development of our game across Suffolk at all levels whilst creating a lifelong enjoyment and participation in the sport. This can be achieved through training, coaching, mentoring, competitions and social events.

We currently have 6 Suffolk clubs affiliated to England Squash with a total of 20 courts and 11 qualified coaches; Ipswich Sports Club, Martlesham Leisure, Moreton Hall Health Club, Brackenbury Sports Centre, Risbygate Sports Centre and Stowmarket Leisure Sports Centre.

All  committee members are volunteers who give up their free time to support the regular activities put on for the County. If you would like to be a part of our team, or have a few spare hours here or there and would like to volunteer at events, please get in touch with us, we’d love to hear from you.
