The Suffolk Squash Committee are pleased to announce an exciting collaboration with Essex Junior Squash, which will see both organisations pool their coaching expertise and resource to help all juniors thrive and develop over the coming season.

It has been widely publicised that Squash across the country has been on the decline and with court closures and limited coaching resources, we felt it was time to change and explore new opportunities to ensure we support the next generation, and joining forces with our neighbours is certainly an exciting proposition.

The new partnership will start at the beginning of next season and will combine all group County training sessions, however, it’s important to note that this is the full extent of the partnership. The teams will remain separate for all County fixtures, committees and finances remain separate, and kit sponsorship will stay completely independent.

Suffolk head coach, Emily Ison said;

“We’ve talked extensively about this partnership and we strongly believe our players will gain a lot from the added competition and different personalities that a combined group session will offer. Coaches from both counties will be able to combine their ideas and expertise to offer players a new training regime and environment.

We’re hoping players from both counties will all benefit from the idea and respond to the challenge of competing and training with a new set of players. This will undoubtedly take them out of their comfort zone, but we see that as a good thing. We’re excited for the upcoming season to start!”

All training dates and venues, and full details will be published on the JUNIORS page soon. However, if you have any questions in the meantime, please contact Emily Ison direct on info@suffolksquash.co.uk.
